Made by fermenting whole bulbs of fresh garlic over several weeks under controlled heat and humidity, black garlic attributes its rich flavor to the Maillard reaction - the chemical process that produces new flavor compounds responsible for the deep taste of seared meat and caramelized onions. Dried and milled to a fine powder, this black garlic powder can be used anywhere you'd use black garlic cloves - just use 1/4 tsp per clove.

With notes of roasted garlic and balsamic vinegar, sprinkle black garlic powder on hummus or other dips, into salad dressings, or even on potato chips!
