NEW CAUSE CAMPAIGN: THE ROSE OASIS PROJECT

Curio Spice is supporting the Rose Oasis Project to benefit the community of women farmers growing Damask roses, spices, and herbs in the Vallée Dades Mgoune of Morocco. Since 2020 we’ve been directly sourcing culinary rose products from a women-run co-op in Morocco.

The culinary roses, grown 100% organically, are at risk of disappearing due to the effects of climate change. Drought and unpredictable weather threaten this plant that has become essential to the livelihoods of women in this valley.

By regenerating the soil and introducing water-saving technology and a poly-culture, the Rose Oasis Project serves as a model for desert agricultural communities around the world.

"Jill Rosenwald runs a buzzin’ ceramics studio in the hip and happening Fort Point district. Rooted in the Boston design community for over 20 years, Jill’s work is recognized for vibrant patterns and thoughtful color combinations. With a small team of potteristas, each table-top gem (including lamps, trays, bowls, and vases) is hand-thrown on the wheel, carefully painted, and lastly trimmed with a 14k gold edge. Jill also specializes in custom design. She collaborates with interior designers, shops around the country, and licensors to make special collections of ceramics, rugs, bedding and other home goods. Deemed by Boston Magazine as “The Connector,” Jill fosters a community of female business owners and designers, with her side-hustle the “Design Salon.”

Come meet Nikki of portoula - a local business featuring artisanal, handcrafted products from Greece. Featuring single origin, artisanal honeys from Greece and other joy-inducing treasures from Greece such as colorful, hand felted shawls/scarves and gorgeous, meticulously handcrafted jewelry designs – this will be a feast for ALL the senses. Join us!

This is an open-house style event (tickets are available but not required to attend!), where guests are invited to come say hello to a local, like-minded business in Curio's lab space. Stop by for as long as you like!

Guided by her Greek heritage and a desire to live (and promote) a life of greater purpose, intention, and joy, Nikki Menounos Daigel created portoula.

Purveyor of joy-inducing treasures inspired by the spirit of Greece, portoula celebrates handwrought, sustainably produced, artisanally crafted goods that bespeak an emotional relationship to one’s work; singular treasures that connect us with our past and
with each other. Portoula single estate, raw, artisanal Greek honey varieties are indeed a treasure! Unlike the blossom honey widely available in the US, ours is forest honey – unmatched in flavor, texture, and nutritional benefits, it’s a true culinary delight.

Produced especially for us by a 4th-generation beekeeper in Nikki’s small Greek village, nestled in the magical Arcadian mountains of the Peloponnese.
