Ready for some serious spice exploration? Delve into the enchanting world of spice blending with instructor Susan Turner!
She’ll introduce you to our flavor theory and the principles that we use to make the exquisite blends we’re known for. Susan will guide you through tasting different spices and teach you about flavor and aroma. She will demonstrate blending techniques and discuss how attention to details such as texture and color can make a blend sing. And, Susan will share insider knowledge about layering flavor, roasting spices, grinding, sensory analysis, and training your palate.
In the hands-on portion of this class, you’ll make one of Curio’s classic blends plus create a blend of your own from our spice cupboard of over 80 intriguing spices.You’ll head home with Curio's Spice Flavor Wheel, blending recipes, and jars of the two blends you made during class. Visible mending uses many approaches to restore old, used or torn clothing and fabric items. It’s both a creative process, a relaxing and meditative practice, and a way to demonstrate a commitment to sustainability by reducing waste and pollution.
Join us as Catherine Karp leads a workshop, where she will demonstrate how to use embroidery, patching and darning techniques to restore and revive damaged or worn out textiles. Beginners will leave with a sampler including the five basic stitches along with three ways to patch.
Class take home kit includes; a pair of Olympus Brand Sashiko needles, one skein of DMC 6 strand embroidery thread, 1 skein of Sashiko thread, one spool of Perle cotton, one spool of wool, a tapestry needle threader, and a few fabric scraps for mending.
In the class access to all the communal tools and materials; a variety of threads including colorful Sashiko threads, fabric markers, pencils, thimbles, scissors, needles, and plenty of scraps for your mending projects.

Farm-Focused. Woman-Owned. Mei Mei's unconventional dumpling combinations showcase our love for great New England ingredients along with a pursuit of what tastes delicious. We use pasture-raised meat that is sourced from independent family-farms and source 70% of our produce from the Northeast.
Chef Irene Li co-founded Mei Mei with her siblings in 2012 as a food truck. "Mei Mei” means little sister in Mandarin Chinese and Mei Mei food is an expression of the Li siblings’ favorite childhood eating experiences as Chinese-American kids growing up in Boston. In 2020, Irene teamed up with Babson MBA graduates Alyssa Lee and Annie Campbell to lead the business in its transformation into a Dumpling Factory, Cafe, and Classroom.
