Supeq Rice Bowls

 Serves 4.

This savory, filling, umami-ful rice is ideal for topping with anything from avocado and radish slices, to kimchee and toasted sesame seeds, or grilled tofu with cucumber ribbons and kale chips. The (flavor) world is your oyster!

1 cup of medium-grain white or sushi rice
3 tablespoons of olive or walnut oil
Salt, pinch
2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons Supeq Spice

For garnish:
Your favorite vegetables, cooked, raw, or pickled, a bit of protein, nuts and seeds —you decide!

Set a medium sauce pan over medium-low heat and add the oil. When the oil shimmers, add the rice and salt to the sauce pan. Toast the rice for 30–45 seconds (to help keep the rice from clumping or getting mushy). Add 1 cup of water to the pan and stir. When the water boils, put a tight-fitting lid on the pan, reduce the heat to low, and cook for 20–25 minutes. DO NOT LIFT THE LID until 20 minutes have passed.

Once the rice is done, fluff with a fork, and fold in 2 tablespoons of Supeq Spice. Serve yourself a generous bowl and top with all the delicious things you want, and finish with a sprinkle of the remaining Supeq Spice

Note: You can use a rice cooker, just follow the manufacturers instructions, but add the oil along with the water. Fold in the 2 tablespoons of Supeq Spice after cooking.
