Prior to founding the business, Claire conducted research on the history of saffron in ancient Greece and its connection with present-day production. The book is a whimsical exploration of the spice and its history, including original prose, photography and watercolor paintings. It also includes recipes inspired by the village cooks of Kozani, Greece.
