Ditch the coffee shop and make this bold, spiced iced latte at home! Da Lat Spice enhances the deep coffee flavor with rich cocoa, ginger, and black pepper, creating a balanced, aromatic drink that’s both refreshing and indulgent. The homemade Da Lat Spice Simple Syrup infuses each sip with warmth and complexity, making this iced latte a standout. Enjoy it over ice or frothy-style, and customize it with your favorite milk for a better-than-barista experience.
Once you try this, you may not go back to take-out iced lattes! Da Lat Spice deepens the coffee flavor and adds chocolaty notes, along with an uplifting kick of ginger and black pepper.
Put the ingredients into a heavy, small saucepan set over medium-high heat. Heat the liquid until it boils; let it boil for 45 seconds. Set aside to infuse and cool to room temperature.
Pour the syrup through a fine-mesh metal strainer into a clean jar with a tight-fitting lid. Store in the fridge, tightly covered, for up to 2 weeks.
For the latte
Fill a 16- or 20-ounce glass halfway with ice. Add coffee, Da Lat Syrup, and as much milk as you like (we love unsweetened almond milk in this drink). Stir and enjoy.
For a frothy version, put the coffee, milk, Da Lat syrup, and a couple of ice cubes into a cocktail shaker. Shake for 20 seconds and strain into a glass half-full of ice.
