Chile Crisp Oil

Chile Crisp Oil

Makes ¼ cup.

Betty Liu’s Chile Crisp Dust is great for using as a meat rub, recipe ingredient, or finishing sprinkle. It’s also easy to create the more familiar chile crisp condiment with oil, which is great as a dip for bread or for drizzling over rice or noodles and for using in marinades and salad dressings. It takes only a few seconds to make a batch!

¼ cup neutral oil
4-5 teaspoons Betty Liu’s Chile Crisp Dust
Sea salt

Put the oil, Chile Crisp Dust, and a tiny pinch of salt into a small, heavy skillet set over medium heat. Stir to mix the oil and spices. When tiny bubbles start to form around the spice particles, remove the pan from the heat. Transfer to a small bowl.
