Hailing from the same family as cabbage and kale, mustard plants have a long and stalwart culinary history in all forms: leaf, root, and seed. While all parts are delicious, we are really here for the sweet and spicy seeds! Yellow mustard seeds are milder and sweeter than the brown variety, and are well suited to European culinary applications where the variety has been used for centuries to add zip to pickles, relishes, and brines. And of course homemade mustard!
