Bonga Spiced Guacamole
Makes about 2 cups.
Homemade guacamole beats all — adding a bit of Bonga Spice as your ‘secret ingredient’ takes it to the next level! This version gets pops of color and texture from the cherry tomatoes and scallions stirred into crushed avocado. Serve with tortilla chips or as topping for your next batch of tacos (or make yourself a fabulous avocado toast). We recommend a garnish of fresh cilantro leaves.
2 ripe avocados
1½ teaspoons Bonga Spice
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
½ teaspoon sea salt
4–5 cherry tomatoes, cut in quarters
2 scallions, white and green parts thinly sliced on the diagonal
Cut the avocados in half lengthwise and remove the pits. Scoop the flesh into a small mixing bowl and roughly mash with a fork, leaving some chunks. Add the Bonga Spice, lime juice, and salt and stir once or twice to be sure the seasonings are evenly mixed through.
Add the tomatoes and scallions; stir gently to mix with the avocado. Taste, adding more Bonga Spice, lime juice, or salt if needed.
Hi Deborah. Susan from the Curio kitchen, here. We love this recipe —- so simple, so much flavor! Bonga is also delicious in a ‘green sauce’ such as salsa verde or zhoug. Hope you try both, Bonga Spice and the recipe! Happy cooking!
Recipe and Spices looks delicious 😋 Thanks
