In Madagascar, Gianna Palmaro is redefining what it means to grow with purpose.
A second-generation farmer, Gianna’s on a mission to produce the highest-quality spices while empowering the people who make it possible.
Eighty percent of her team are women, many of whom have risen to positions of leadership in the company under her mentorship despite having had no access to formal education. Gianna has built her business around creating meaningful change—from funding school tuition and supplying classroom materials to distributing feminine hygiene products to support dignity and independence. Her approach is guided by trust and respect, with hands-on care for her community.
That commitment hasn’t gone unnoticed. In 2025, her company was named Africa's Business of the Year at the Women Changing the World Awards.
We’re proud to partner with Gianna and to offer Curio customers exclusive access to her extraordinary spices.
