Can’t decide between a beer or a cocktail? Make a Michelada, where lager meets Bloody Mary in a perfectly laid-back brunch or game day beverage. Chili Today adds a touch of heat and exceptional flavor while Magic Salt, a customer and staff favorite, makes for an extra-festive rim.

Ingredients
For the cocktail:
-
2 cups tomato passata
-
1 tablespoon (heaping) Chili Today!
-
2 tablespoons lemon juice
-
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
-
Hot sauce, to taste
-
Seal salt, to taste
To finish the cocktail:
-
1-2 bottles lager beer, such as Dos Equis®
For the rim:
-
2 tablespoons Magic Salt
-
Lemon wedge
Garnish
-
Leafy celery or lovage stalks
Directions
Put the cocktail-mix ingredients into a large jar or pitcher. Add a pinch of salt and stir (the amount of salt depends on how salty the passata is and your preference).
Transfer the jar or pitcher to the fridge and chill, letting the flavors meld until ready to use, at least 1 hour.
Put the Magic Salt into a saucer or shallow bowl. Swipe the lemon wedge around the rims of 4 tall glasses or pint jars, then dip the rims into the Magic Salt. Put a few ice cubes into the glasses and set them aside.
Add 2 cups cold water to the cocktail mix and stir to combine. Fill each glass halfway with cocktail mix, then top up with lager.
Add a celery or lovage stalk in each glass and use it to give the drink a gentle stir. Serve immediately.
