Join Suman Shah of Fork on a Road as she dives into a sublime pumpkin curry with her Garam Masala and Panch Foran blends, a favorite from her days in Calcutta. She will also teach us how to create a refreshing salad-style beet kootu based on her Mom's bean version with a curry leaf tadka. And no winter dinner is complete without a carrot shikanji, inspired by Northern India's black carrot spiced booch using her Chaat Mela spices.

Suman’s recipes draw inspiration from her Indian roots and a life of almost twenty years in New England. When not hosting cooking classes, she’s busy developing her Market Day Meal Kits for local farmers markets. Suman shares cooking explorations on her blog Fork on a Road, drawing inspiration from different corners of the world. As an instinctive cook, she makes familiar foods in unexpected ways, making them easily adaptable and accessible for a busy life. The Spice Lab is immediately adjacent to our spice shop, at 2267 Massachusetts Ave. Metered parking is available along Mass Ave, or there is a lot at the intersection of Day Street and Herbert Street towards Davis Square if you don't mind a quick walk!
